Dr. Stephen Narh is a Senior Research Fellow (Agronomist) of the Soil and Irrigation Research Centre (SIREC), Kpong, School of Agriculture, College of Basic and Applied Sciences of the University of Ghana, Legon. He obtained a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture in 2000 and a Master of Philosophy in Soil Science in 2006, both from the University of Ghana, Legon. As part of his Master’s Degree, he had a one-year programme in Science and Engineering at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology in Tokyo, Japan in 2004. He completed his PhD in Agronomy at the University of Florida, USA in 2013.Dr. Narh has worked on rice over the years and has conducted training for farmer groups in “Expanding Lowland Rice Production through Mechanization and Good Agricultural Practices” and “Nutrient and Water Management in Lowland Rice Farming Systems” both under the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (COTVET)Ghana Programme. He is currently in charge of rice production and training of young farmers under the Leventis Foundation Farmers’ Training Programme at the Soil and Irrigation Research Centre, University of Ghana in rice production. He is also the University of Ghana representative on the Asian African Consortium Rice Project Implantation committee.
